Rocky Patel spent more than a year refining Sapphire, working through over 100 blend variations before settling on the profile that defines this release. The Rocky Patel Sapphire Toro is handcrafted at the TAVICUSA factory in Nicaragua and built around extensively aged tobaccos, including leaf that had been resting for years before rolling. A dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper covers dual binders from Estelí and Honduras' Jamastran Valley, while the filler combines Nicaraguan tobaccos from Condega, Estelí, and Jalapa.
That patient blending shows in the cigar's medium to full-bodied character, which layers roasted coffee, espresso, dark chocolate, caramel, cedar, baking spice, and a lingering natural sweetness. In the 6 1/2 x 52 Toro vitola, expect roughly 75 to 100 minutes of smoking time at an unhurried pace, giving the blend plenty of room to show its balance, depth, and polished finish.
