Ashton Heritage Puro Sol Robusto
Ashton Heritage Puro Sol Robusto
Ashton Heritage Puro Sol Robusto is one of the more distinctive regular-production cigars in the Ashton portfolio, made by the Fuente family in the Dominican Republic with a blend built entirely around sun-grown tobaccos. Its current expression pairs an Ecuador Habano wrapper with Dominican binder and filler leaves, giving the cigar a richer, more assertive profile than Ashton Classic while maintaining the line’s trademark balance and polish.
In this classic Robusto format, the blend lands at a medium-bodied level with a savory mix of cedar, earth, baking spice, coffee, and a measured natural sweetness. The 5 1/2 x 50 size offers enough room for the wrapper’s character to show without turning the smoke heavy, and at an easy pace it generally provides about 45 to 70 minutes of smoking time. Smokers who enjoy refined complexity with a touch more depth than a traditional mellow Ashton will find plenty to appreciate here.
This size also carries its own notable recognition. The Robusto earned a 92-point rating and a Top 10 placement in Cigar Aficionado’s 2008 Top 25, a distinction that helped establish Heritage Puro Sol as one of the stronger-performing medium-bodied blends in the Ashton range.
