Description

Introduced in 2007, Oliva Serie V marked a turning point for the company with a fuller, more concentrated blend built around specially fermented Jalapa Valley ligero. The line is made in Nicaragua with Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos and a high-priming Habano sun grown wrapper, giving it a richer profile than the brand’s milder core series.

Across the collection, the emphasis is on depth and structure rather than simple strength. Coffee, dark chocolate, earth, and pepper are recurring notes, supported by the natural intensity of the ligero component. While individual vitolas have earned their own ratings over the years, the line as a whole is best known for combining power with balance, a profile that helped establish Oliva Serie V as one of the defining modern Nicaraguan cigar collections.

Oliva Serie V Double Toro

Only Oliva I'll smoke

Bought a sampler pack of a variety of the offerings of Oliva based on an article in Cigar Aficionado. This one was not in the sampler pack but was the favorite smoke of one of my favorite Car Company execs and huge car guy Bob Lutz. Tried this one based off the article and it was my favorite. Was not impressed with the other offerings that came in the sampler pack though

Oliva Serie V Variety Sampler

Perfect Vacation Cigar

Few cigars pair so effortlessly with a European spring afternoon like the Oliva Serie V. Pictured here smoldering against the blurred but unmistakable skyline of Elbląg, Poland—with its towering Gothic cathedral and terracotta rooftops—the Serie V offered a rich, grounded counterpoint to the lightness of the day.

From first draw, this stick lives up to its reputation. Full-bodied but smooth, it balances Nicaraguan Ligero leaf power with elegance. Notes of espresso, leather, and dark chocolate were underscored by a subtle sweetness, and the construction was as reliable as a cathedral clock—long, firm ash and a flawless burn line throughout.

The view across the river—calm waters, scattered clouds, old-world charm—enhanced the smoke’s contemplative character. It was a cigar not just to enjoy, but to savor slowly while the bells toll in the distance and your mind slips into reverie.

This particular stick from the Oliva Serie V Variety Sampler reminded me why Oliva’s V line consistently ranks among the best. It’s refined without pretense, bold without overpowering—perfect for moments when you want the cigar to reflect the experience, not distract from it.

Final verdict:
A must-bring for a European jaunt. Whether you're sipping an espresso in Kraków or drifting along the canals in Gdańsk, the Oliva Serie V is a travel companion worthy of the passport space.

Wonderful Cigar

This has to be my favorite full strength cigar, the presentation is just magnificent, the burn perfectly even, the draw on point and produces just the right amount of smoke. Delicious cigar from beginning to end.

Always fun!

Impeccable construction that incorporates some sweetness, nutty and floral flavors. The wrapper is dark and oily and the aroma of this cigar is just fantastic. Never disappoints!
