As supply chain issues continue to occur for all cigars, one country in particular is having more issues than others when it comes to getting inventory of cigars: Nicaragua. We all know how amazing cigars from Nicaragua are! They have consistently been top rated for many years and have won numerous cigar of the year awards from Cigar Aficionado. As we approached the end of the year, we were all hopeful that we would soon reach a point where supply would meet demand and no shortages would occur in the market. Unfortunately, with the recent decree from the State Department we can expect things to get worse before they become better. The U.S Government is in the process of issuing sanctions against Nicaragua, and removing them from the CAFTA agreement (Central America Free Trade Agreement). At Mike's Cigars, we can only speculate what type of impact this will have with cigars that are made in Nicaragua; and question whether this will possibly lead to another Cuba situation with a full embargo against Nicaragua in the future? Only time will tell. Right now, Mike's Cigars is doing everything in our power to acquire as much inventory as possible to keep prices as low as we can. But inflation, even if transitory, is still creeping up. Prices continue to rise for goods and shipping. This is leading many manufacturers and retailers to raise prices! With this recent news we can only expect one result, PRICES WILL GO UP! Now that is not something anybody would like to hear, but the fact of the matter is with the economy in its current situation and supply chains being bombarded with demand along with gas and energy on the rise, there will be no way to avoid this from happening; and the situation will only be exasperated from sanctions being placed against Nicaragua. Currently we have LARGE amounts of inventory of Nicaraguan cigars and we are keeping our prices as low as possible. It may be best to take advantage now and secure your favorite Nicaraguan cigars now while inventory is available and prices are low.
