Connecticut Harvest Cigar Sampler
Connecticut Harvest Cigar Sampler
As most of you may know and the few who don't, October is the last harvest of the year for most of the crops in most of the United States. It's a traditional harvest that has occurred all through the northern hemisphere for many centuries before the bitter cold of winter comes in. I thought it was only proper for us to have our own harvest of Connecticut cigars. This will probably be the last Connecticut cigar sampler until the bitter cold of winter comes in. Fortunately, I am talking about the cold of the North because if we were waiting for that to happen here in Miami Beach, well we would be waiting forever!
Aging Room Quattro Connecticut Aging Room cigars are notorious for being well-constructed and having a balanced blend. Aging Room Quattro Connecticut is the new name for the F55 cigar line. The cigar was design by Rafael Nodal in Domincan Republic and it has the reputation of being the smoothest blend yet. Features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Dominican binder and filler. The result is a mild to medium-bodied profile that delivers notes of roasted nuts, cream, and a natural sweetness. Nodal’s love for music served him as a technique to compose a melody of flavors that go together far too well.
Montecristo White Vintage Connecticut Montecristo White Vintage Connecticut marries the subtle nuances of a vintage 2008, aged Connecticut Shade Wrapper to a sensual blend of hand-selected binder and fillers. Rich, flavorful and complex. For generations, Connecticut Shade Wrapper has been highly sought-after by the by the world’s finest cigar makers. The leaves are grown in the sandy loam, unique to the Connecticut River Valley, under special tenting that filters the sun and elevates humidity to ideal levels.
Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Any cigar aficionado will tell you that when Rocky blends a cigar, it tends to lean towards the sophisticated palate. It's really not for the novice. His blends are rather complex, like a great Cabernet wine, he reaches for a combination of balance and complexity. Rocky says that when blending tobaccos from various regions, it takes greater skill and knowledge but the end result is the symmetry and marrying of all these flavors to produce a really great tasting cigar.
H Upmann Connecticut For a brand as established and reputed as H. Upmann, you wouldn’t expect them to become the trailblazers that are looking to change the status quo and reinvent the wheel. But by using a truly dark, Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper to envelop a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, the term “Connecticut” begins to take on a stronger, darker and spicier connotation. Rolled at Tabacalea De Garcia in the Dominican Republic, the Upmann Connecticut was released to mark the 175th anniversary of the brand, and with the wonderful blend of pepper, woods, roasted nuts, and coffee, this Medium-Bodied smoke finishes with the characteristic sweetness of a Connecticut wrapper, but with a bite that is a welcomed change.
Macanudo Gold Label Crystal Made of rare golden Connecticut Shade wrapper leaves to create a distinctive, new taste. The golden wrapper leaves are harvested from the first and second primings of Macanudo's specially grown Connecticut Shade crop. The wrappers are elegantly thin, yet remarkably supple with fine veins. Their texture is especially smooth, without a hint of graininess. An excellent offering from the prestigious Macanudo line.
