The folks at Asylum 13 have never liked to stick to the tried and true, but they have truly thrown out convention with the release of the Medulla Oblongata. The Medulla Oblongata by Asylum comes in boxes of 50, but rather than including 50 cigars of a particular style, each box includes 25 round Parejo cigars and 25 box press cigars. As you open the box you will see a cedar divide in the center. On the lest, Round Parejos lie wrapped in a white wrapper with the word “MEDULLA” printed in bold stenography down the middle, while the bold and square box-pressed sticks rest on the right, with the word “OBLONGATA” emblazoned on the white wrapper that surrounds it. While the tobacco blends are identical in both the Medula and the Oblongata, the different rolling methods have a strong effect on not only the smoke times, but according to many seasoned smokers, even the flavor can vary as a result of the different methods of rolling cigars.
