Created in 2011 at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate, Undercrown Maduro by Drew Estate grew out of the factory team’s effort to craft a cigar with its own identity after the rollers’ demand for Liga Privada No. 9 began outpacing internal supply. That origin still defines the line: it is a regular-production, box-pressed maduro collection built around a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, a Connecticut River Valley stalk-cut Habano binder, and a filler blend that includes Nicaraguan and Brazilian tobaccos.

As a collection, it is known for a darker, fuller profile than many mainstream maduros without losing balance. Earth, espresso, cocoa, pepper, and a touch of natural sweetness are central to the line’s character, while the construction style reflects Drew Estate’s emphasis on dense packing and a substantial feel in the hand. The result is a series that helped establish Undercrown as more than a value-minded offshoot, giving the brand one of its most recognizable expressions and a lasting place in Drew Estate’s broader portfolio.

It’s my favorite daily smoke. (3-4 a day)

Ever since the first time i tried this cigar I have enjoyed it. It’s the perfect balance of spice, cedar and it’s aromatics are spectacular. It has a rich scent and almost reminds me of earl grey. It’s an epic cigar and it would still be my daily smoke if it were $20 per. It has become my benchmark for all cigars I try.
