Created as a tribute to Melanio Oliva, the family patriarch who began growing tobacco in Cuba in the 19th century, Oliva Serie V Melanio builds on the strength and depth of the Serie V concept with a more refined presentation. The line is made in Nicaragua, box-pressed, and built around an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos, giving the collection a character that is rich and full-flavored without losing balance.
Across the line, Oliva Serie V Melanio is known for a layered profile that typically moves through cedar, coffee, earth, pepper, and natural sweetness, with a texture that feels polished rather than aggressive. That combination of power, shape, and composure helped define the line’s reputation, and the Oliva Serie V Melanio Figurado became Cigar Aficionado’s No. 1 Cigar of 2014, a distinction that remains central to the series’ standing among modern Nicaraguan cigars. ...Read More

An hour we'll Spent
I got a few of these in some samplers and now I understand. These really are a great cigar. I used a v-cutter and didn't slide it all the way through the opening, and about halfway through, I had to cut it again. The flavor concentrates through the taper, and thus built up with tar. This doesn't affect the overall quality of the cigar.
Flavors that keep coming and an ash that won't quit!

Love it
Oliva has some excellent blends but this one takes it up a notch, no matter which size I smoke I'm always upset when it's over.

Oliva Serie V Melanio Figurado
The Oliva Serie V Melanio Figurado size is an exquisite cigar.
The Oliva Serie V Melanio Figurado size is an exquisite cigar that is a unique smoking experience. This full-bodied cigar features a stunning Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. Once lit, the flavors began to unfold with rich notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and a hint of black pepper entice the palate, creating a bold and indulgent profile. In my opinion the Figurado shape adds an extra dimension to the smoking experience, allowing the flavors to intensify and evolve throughout the smoke. The construction is flawless, providing a smooth draw and an even burn that enhances the enjoyment of the cigar. The Oliva Serie V Melanio Figurado embodies elegance and is perfect for those seeking a refined and memorable smoking session.

Fine cigar, but one drawback I didn't go
the cigar immediately becomes pleasant, from the first puff. Gorgeous bag of tobacco, fragrant smoke. I found only one drawback of this cigar - it has dips in the body. In my opinion it's too light. But still - 5 stars.

Oliva Serie V Melanio Robusto
My personal TOP cigar
The cigar from the very beginning shows a scattering of peppers with light woodiness. Literally after a few puffs, the pepperiness gives way to the taste of cocoa, nuts and light perfume.
The aroma of wood and chocolate hangs in the air, and there is a sugar aftertaste on the lips.
The second third begins with a predominance of leather notes. Walnuts, dark roasted coffee and chocolate aromas gave way to light pellet in the aftertaste.
In the last third, the pepperiness is still increasing, almost squeezing out all other tastes. The rest of the aromas are leather and wood. What is pleasing is that throughout the cigar the strength does not change much, only slightly strengthening by the final.
And at the end, when you don't expect anything special anymore, the taste of dark chocolate in its purest form, without impurities just falls on the receptors. It's just amazing.
