Introduced in 2002, Macanudo Gold Label is a seasonal extension of the Macanudo portfolio built around exceptionally pale Connecticut Shade wrappers selected from the plant’s lower primings. Those leaves receive less sun exposure, which gives the line its notably lighter color and a gentler character than the already mild Macanudo Café.
Produced in the Dominican Republic at General Cigar Dominicana, the blend pairs that Connecticut Shade wrapper with a Mexican San Andrés binder and a filler mix of Dominican Piloto Cubano and Mexican tobaccos. Across the line, the profile is mild in strength and traditionally smooth, with a creamy, soft-edged style that has made Gold Label one of Macanudo’s most recognizable annual releases.
Its identity has long been tied to limited yearly availability, since the wrapper selection depends on a smaller yield of suitable leaf. That approach gives Macanudo Gold Label a distinct place within the brand: not a stronger or darker expression, but a more delicate one, defined by restrained body, polished construction, and the particular character of low-priming Connecticut Shade tobacco. ...Read More
Maybe one of the best cigars I've had. Light smooth, good burn and draw rate. Highly recommend. #NiceAsh

A good brief smoke
These nuggets are great for my short walks or sitting out on the porch for a little while. Just enough bite to keep my interest without being an overly heavy draw.

I love this brand but unfortunately in my last two boxes a lot of cigars came broken and very dry.
Hopefully this doesn't happen again.
