Licenciados is a long-running Dominican cigar line created with Manuel Quesada and MATASA for Mike's Cigars in the late 1980s, when the market strongly favored milder premium blends. That origin still defines the collection: a smooth, approachable profile built around easy balance rather than weight or spice.

Across the line, Licenciados is known for creamy texture, restrained body, and a classic mild-to-medium character that has often been compared to traditional Dominican benchmarks. Its reputation was strengthened early by critical recognition, including a 93 rating from Cigar Aficionado for the Licenciados Toro in 1994, a notable result for a Dominican non-Cuban cigar of that period.

Nice Smoke

I was introduced to Licenciados by friend 30 years ago and really liked them. I prefer a big ring and didn't see these until recently. A nice cigar for the price. Draws well, burns even with very little canoeing.

I love Licenciados, been smoking them for 30 years. I've been a customer for 15 years. I am very disappointed and quite sad that they are the worst cigars I have ever gotten from Mike's, which are normally quite delicious. These are dried out and bitter from the moment I opened the box. I need to return them.

Best all around smoke

I’ve been smoking all sizes of Licenciados for years now. This is my go to brand, from the golf course to my patio, it never has let me down. Extremely smooth and no harsh taste, even down to the last 1/2 inch. Toro is my #1 size, however lately I’ve been puffing on the camaroon wrapper and it has more of a chocolate flavor. My lates order consists of Toro/Gordo/Churchill, Gonna be a good December to remember.

Love the size

This is a mild to medium smoke with pleasant DR tobacco throughout the experience. Need to smoke these slowly to avoid getting to hot. Hope they continue to produce these elegant cigars in this "larger is better" cigar culture.

Been smoking cigars for so long I remember "buy 5 and get a 6th for free". Super premium cigars were under $5.00 too. Then the cigar craze hits in the early 1990's and the prices jumped and supplies tightened. Anyway, found Licenciados in mid 1990 a nice mild morning cigar. Then I was unable to find the until I started shopping at Mike's. Here I am enjoying a wavell on a warm winter evening here in New York!

SUPREME BEING

As the name implies, this is a "SUPREME" smoke! I usually smoke the Churchill, Panetela, and Figurado, but this Beast at 8 1/2 X 52 shines for quite a long time. The light nutty and cedary flavor can now be enjoyed on a longer stick. It's true enjoyment from beginning to end. So reserve yourself a nice long afternoon, sit back, gather a favorite spirit and let the Licenciados Soberanos take care of the rest. Happy Smoking!
