Introduced in 2014, EP Carrillo La Historia was created as a tribute to the Perez-Carrillo family legacy and marked the company’s first box-pressed regular-production line. The blend is made at Tabacalera La Alianza in the Dominican Republic, using a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. That combination gives the collection a darker, richer profile than many traditional Dominican cigars while still reflecting Ernesto Perez-Carrillo’s measured approach to balance.
Across the line, La Historia is generally associated with notes of cocoa, espresso, earth, pepper, and natural sweetness, delivered at a medium-to-full-bodied level. Cigars came fast & well humidified. I have only been able to enjoy The Pledge, Encore due to this Northeast weather but it was delicious! Two Number Ones and One Number Two
Where else can you get 2 Number Ones and One Number two rated cigars by Cigar Aficionado, including the highest rated cigar ever for the price of $35. Only at Mikes, This is a steal of a deal. My favorite of the bunch is the Pledge Prequel. Its dark, oily, maduro wrapper almost looks to go to smoke. I watched mine for 6 months in my humidor before I gave it a puff. I don't have the most distinguished palate but I could definitely taste black cherry and the blast of pepper (my favorite). These cigars should be in everyone's humidor.
