CAO Pilon Anejo was created as an aged extension of the original Pilon series, building on the traditional pilón fermentation method with an extra two years of post-roll maturation. Introduced in 2022, the line was made in Honduras at HATSA and blended to deliver a fuller, deeper profile than the regular-production Pilon.

The collection combines an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper with a Honduran Habano binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. That recipe gives CAO Pilon Anejo a medium-to-full character shaped by earth, caramel, wood, and measured spice, with the additional aging helping the blend settle into a smoother, more integrated expression.

Its identity is tied less to broad CAO branding than to process: circular pilón fermentation for the tobaccos, followed by extended aging after rolling. That combination makes the line stand out as a limited-production release centered on patience, fermentation, and a darker, more mature take on the Pilon concept.

To be honest this reminds me of an Aging Room Original .....on crack. It's got all that sultry sweetness on the finished but with a dump truck load of power that will sneak up on you before you get past the halfway point.
