CAO Pilon Anejo was created as an aged extension of the original Pilon series, building on the traditional pilón fermentation method with an extra two years of post-roll maturation. Introduced in 2022, the line was made in Honduras at HATSA and blended to deliver a fuller, deeper profile than the regular-production Pilon.

The collection combines an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper with a Honduran
Habano binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. That recipe gives CAO Pilon Anejo a medium-to-full character shaped by earth, caramel, wood, and measured spice, with the additional aging helping the blend settle into a smoother, more integrated expression.

Its identity is tied less to broad CAO branding than to process: circular pilón fermentation for the tobaccos, followed by extended aging after rolling. That combination makes the line stand out as a limited-production release centered on patience, fermentation, and a darker, more mature take on the Pilon concept.
