The Romeo y Julieta Reserve (formerly known as the Habana Reserve, Altadis USA changed the name of this brand by eliminating the word "HABANA" from its name, we assume this is due to the impending end to the U.S. embargo) comes in slightly darker boxes, sporting the famous Romeo logo. Unlike the plain Romeo, the Habana Reserve is handmade* in Honduras at the Flor de Copan factory. It is a full-body cigar, setting a new record for the famous line. The smoke is distinguished by a rich blackberry and elder flower aroma. With walnut, vanilla, molasses and subtle hints of clove. Finishing it off with a smooth elegant yet creamy smoke, the way only the best Honduran tobacco can create. Indeed, the structure of the Habana reserve is marvelous. Fine, succulent silky wrapper leaves coating an interesting combination of Nicaraguan Honduran blend. It all adds up to a great cigar at a great price. Romeo y Julieta Habana Reserve is made from the finest blend of Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos and a Nicaraguan binder leaf. Together, these Romeo y Julieta Habana Reserve provide a rich, robust earthy flavor.

A pretty good version of the full size reserva real
Not bad for a cigarillo. These are really really close to the full size, and about a 20 min smoke.

Understanding Value
I've been smoking cigars since I was 14 and a good cigar enhances the day and everything involved in it,( tastes, activities, and work) A bad cigar is bland smoke you suffer through on the day lucky if you get a nicotine buzz... A good expensive cigar guarantees the enhancement of the day. A magnificent cigar is cheap and still guarantees the enhancement. I don't love all Romeo y julieta cigars but this specific one is magnificent. There are a few others that are on it's level, especially if price is included. My favorite morning cigar is a Montecristo Classic, if your short on cash try a macanudo insporado orange or white, they're magnificent. My favorite nighttime smoke is an Arturo fuente Don carlos, but if your short on cash try these, they're magnificent. There is one other magnificent cigar but we don't talk about those yet, not until we've all stock piled enough of the dark oily b*stards for ourselves that is.

Excellent Smoke
I bought this with minimal expectations, & it's my favorite cigar shape. However, it turned out to be a great smoke. I lit the 1st 1 at my local cigar gathering. Everyone loved it. I brought some to NJ last week when I went to visit my brother. I broke them out with his cigar group, & everyone lived them as well. I was glad that I had some other great Mike's cigars, as I was able to bring some home.

True Love
So loyal to the RyJ character, but with something extra. The strength is much more prevalent than normal. Fall in love all over again with a mature version of Romeo y Julieta

Consistently elegant value
This is an attractive stick with an upper quality wrapper of smooth, milk chocolate brown. Do yourself a favor and don't clip the foot....you will be treated to an absolutely delightful opening pull when you first light up. There are lean black pepper notes with thin leather on the front end. Dry, whole grain toast and chewy caramel in the mid, finishing with cedar and hickory wood. I've had a box of these mellowing in my humidor for nearly a year now and they have all had a slightly dry profile, but with very consistently smooth draws and smoke texture.
This is an attractive cigar that is a "true" perfecto at a reasonable price. It errs on the thin side of complexity, but it is nonetheless elegant and more than anything, a great value. 4/5

Average smoke. Nothing special but not bad. To be fair, the cigar was enjoyed while ice fishing and I really wasn't focused on the smoking experience.
This is a great stick. First couple of draws had some spice but smoothed out very quickly and was consistently smooth after that. Great flavor and a great amount of smoke. A nice long, relaxing smoke and it's a steal at this price range. Glad I got five in a double stack.

A Great Medium-Bodied Smoke
The Romeo y Julieta Reserve is one of the best all around medium-bodied cigars I have smoked. I am always a fan of Romeo y Julieta but the Reserva has more flavor than similar caliber cigars and is consistently good. A must-try if you have not.
