Perla Del Mar Maduro Double Toro

Rich & Bitter Cocoa Bomb

The first thing I noticed about these cigars is that they don't appear to be as large as they really are. I've smoked my share of 6x60s, but due to the box press, it felt a tad smaller. The wrappers have a dull and gritty finish to them, as opposed to shiny and smooth. Good cap that holds together the whole way.

Flavor wise, every review here is spot on. It came across as a dark cocoa powder bomb to me. Moderate spice, chewy and moist as opposed to crisp and dry. Mostly savory without much sweetness for me. There is a lot of depth here which is likely to make your head spin, so I usually save these boys for after dinner smokes. They have that late evening kind of personality. No complaints on the draw...perfectly adequate. Produces a chalky white ash which has a tendency to flake off in small pieces throughout the smoke.

This is one of the heavier cigars I've smoked in the past year. I've had many myself and shaved a few here and there. Most of my colleagues really enjoyed this smoke...some complained about its heavy depth. Most suitable for the experienced smoker. If you enjoy a bold meal of smoke, I recommend these to you.

Smooth

This cigar is pretty smooth to the palate. Chocolatey notes predominate over the rest. It draws and burns flawlessly (at least so far). The ash is tight. Overall a good cigar for less than $7 a stick.

When first sat down with the PDM Maduro I toasted the foot noticing a quite pleasing smell of cocoa, tobacco and at the first draw a overwhelming chocolate note hit my pallet; as I went back for another draw I noticed some tunneling as well as a hot and tight draw from the start.

Other than that as I entered the 2nd third the cigar was a good tasting cigar with notes of creamy chocolate, spice, black pepper on the retro and not so bad tobacco.

Perla Del Mar Corojo Robusto

Good overall smoke for under $8.00 it is worth giving this one a try.

This stick starts out with a little pepper/spice then smooths out to be a creamy smoke. Half way down you get coffee/leather flavors. The final third of this cigar gets a little bolder with a rich finish. For under
$8.00 a stick this smoke is a good one to try without breaking the bank.

Second on my list of faves

Love the Perla Del Mar Maduro, bought some of these beauties and man am I glad I did. Burns even with a hint of cocoa, dark earth and slight coffee cream and hints of pepper on retrohale. Will buy lots more of this stick.
