The Flor de las Antillas Maduro is a box-pressed cigar made by My Father Cigars in Esteli, Nicaragua. The blend includes a sun-grown wrapper harvested from the "Las Maria" farm owned by the Garcia family. This all-Nicaraguan cigar includes an Ecuador Habano Maduro wrapper leaf."We had to tweak [the cigar] in order to get the blend stronger than the regular Flor de las Antillas and in order to get the right balance with the Maduro wrapper," said Jose Ortega, vice president of sales for My Father Cigars.Once you light up this cigar, you'll enjoy the delicious notes of espresso, woodsy, spice, dried fruit, oak, and creaminess. The Flor de las Antillas maduro is the follow-up to the original Flor de las Antillas cigar that received a 96-rating and won '#1 cigar of they year' by The Flor de las Antillas maduro is the follow-up to the original Flor de las Antillas cigar that received a 96-rating and won '#1 cigar of they year' by Cigar Aficionado magazine in 2012.

This is another fantastic cigar from My Father. I had no burn issues what so ever. It is creamy, chewy, full of notes of earth, cocoa and oak with no pepper to speak of. The retro hale is maduro goodness and very long. Nice ash and great smoke output. More medium then full IMO. Paired great with Pendelton whiskey neat. Will keep in my rotation for sure.

Promising
Am fond of Flor de las Antillas natural and was excited to find their newer maduro cousin. I find the maduros tasty, strong, and with a magnificent aroma. This is the taste my Caribbean grand-dad’s and uncles used to appreciate. My only disappointment is that, unlike the belicosos of the brand, which I am used to, the maduros need to be “fussed” with a tad more than I enjoy. They come apart, they need to be re-lit, the burn edge is irregular and blurred, the consistency in the feel of the stick is uneven…
But my Lord what taste and aroma! I don’t plan to give up on the cigar, because the flavor is so superb, especially for the price, and I attribute the above negatives to needed fine-tuning on the part of the cigar rollers. But I can’t imagine any reason they couldn’t perfect the confection of each stick to the same level as the other cousins in the Flor de las Antillas line. Hopefully, my first box was just the product of some poor roller who had a bad day! So I consider this product “work in progress”, but having great promise, so for now I plan to keep ordering it.

Flor de las Antillas Maduro Toro Gordo
Good but Strong
These are actually Full bodied where others brands labeled as such were not. Good draw, good amount of smoke (some are too smoky some too little). This Toro Gordo is big, took me about 90 minutes to smoke and felt woozy at the end.

Gorgeous
A good friend gave me a three pack of the 6x50 tubos. After smoking the first one; I was instantaneously converted into a Flor de las Antillas fan.
Theses cigars were amazing. I am a die-hard fan of the Padron brand, and rarely smoke anything else. I only smoke maduros.
I loved the earthy-woody-with-a-hint-of-chocolate flavor.
