Montecristo Grupo de Maestros is the third entry in Montecristo’s hard to find and EXTERMELY limited edition Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch series of cigars is here. The Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch III is the proud result of the most skilled cigar makers in all the Altadis bullpen. With more than 100 years of experience between them, the master blenders and cigar makers only made 300 boxes of these cigars, each containing cigars.
A follow-up to 2016’s Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch II, the new line comes in a 6 1/8 x 52 Belicoso vitola, a first for the line, with a blend of a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper, Dominican binder and a clever blend of aged Nicaraguan, Dominican & Peruvian filler leaves. It returns in the same numbered, cedar 100-count boxes that we saw with the previous releases, with an added wrapping of burlap that features a mural of the Grupo de Maestros. Like the cigars, the boxes get a bit of aging before being filled with cigars to ensure an aromatic cedar as well as to preserve their natural wear.
Like the precious releases, this was an extremely limited production with only 300 boxes being produced for a total production of 30,000 cigars, made at Tabacalera de García in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Designed for “Adult Consumers’ Palates” the Grupo de Maestros Private Batch III is a complex medium to full flavored cigar that will be gone before you know it.
