With a line that is already dedicated to honoring the rollers that helped build his company, “La Galera” means “roller’s room” in Spanish, Jose “Jochy” Blanco is double booking the dedications by also paying homage to the year his factory was founded. The La Galera 1936 Box Pressed is named for the year Jochy's Tabacalera Palma factory, the factory that launched brands like Aging Room and La Flor Dominicana, first opened its doors, forever changing the landscape of the cigar world. The 1936 Box pressed is a fitting example of how passionately the La Galera team is when it comes to creating their cigars. A medium to full bodied cigar, the La Galera 1936 is a Dominican Puro that features a Habano wrapper and a blend of Criollo 98 and Piloto Cubano long-filler tobaccos. The blend of tobaccos produces a powerful and aromatic smoke, with notes of fruit, caramel, cocoa and cinnamon, and a heavy red pepper that is powerful and potent. Incredibly well-constructed, the box pressed La Galera 1936 offers a slow and savory burn whose taste, and choice of aged Dominican tobaccos, belies its surprisingly low cost. More than 3 generations in the making, La Galera 1936 Box Pressed is a welcome addition to the world of Medium to full bodied Premium Cigars. ...Read More

Cabeza Caracol
What a cool and odd name for such a great cigar. Definitely when you have an hour plus to burn there should be on the top of your list. Flavors of burnt nougat and cinnamon pepper explode on the finish and the retro. Something that I could smoke over and over again without getting bored.

La Galera 1936 Box Pressed Pegador - Corona Gorda
La Galera 1936 Box Pressed Pegador
By far the biggest underdog within this line. This 46 gauge in the box press is just bursting with flavor and is a notch above the rest of the lineup and strength as well. Awesome 45 minute smoke, med+

La Galera 1936 Box Pressed Pilones - Gordo
60 Ring Box Press
Anytime I can find the heavy ring gauges in a box press I'm down to try them. This Galera did not disappoint one bit. Very complex with a long finish. Epic construction and even burn right to the end.

La Galera 1936 Box Pressed Chaveta - Robusto
Flavorful Dominican
The 1936 line is one of the more flavorful Dominican puros I have tasted. Lots of sweet and peppery notes throughout. A great bargain for what you pay for.

Slow-mo Burn
Felt like I was smoking this for days it burnt so slow and so even. Packed with intense flavors of leather caramel and cocoa. Really love how Galera produced this blend in the box press format.
