The Gurkha Royal Challenge cigar is a smooth and rich mild to medium bodied cigar. It was rated 91 and was winner of the the SAPPI European Printing Awards. This is another superb cigar from K. Hansotia's impressive and extensive cigar line. The blend features an aged silky Connecticut/Ecuadorian shade wrapper, a Habano/Honduran binder that is ideally complimented by Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers.
The Gurkha Royal Challenge is a delicious, complex smoke with notes of creamy, vanilla, cedar, almonds and spices. inconsistent and a 65 point cigar

The first third of these box of 20 were good. But as soon the first third was done the cigar stopped burning and had to be relit. This is an indications of poor rolling (hand made) and bad quality control. Also, I noted that some cigars did not have the labels sealed over were as others were secured correctly. This is an indication of vendor re-pack vise shipping an entire untouched non opened box. Overall these cigars because 2/3 of box had extremely poor draw after the first 1/3, they are not 88 points instead they are MUST closer to 65-70 points. These are cheap and they are worse than rated. But if you want a cheap smoke these fit the bill. Just do not expect a 85 point cigar AT ALL, expect a 65 point and it will help your assessment/experience. Disappointment can be worse than the smoke itself.

Split wrappers

I bought a 5 pack to give them a try, smoked one upon arrival and put the rest in the humidor. Now a few weeks later went to get one and noticed the wrapper had split, checked the others, 2 of the 4 were split. I like the cigars but this is a first and I will have to pass on buying anymore.

Possible Daily Stick

Very enjoyable cigar. Is in medium category but closer to mild than full. Very good flavor throughout entire length. A nice blend of cream with a touch of spice, not too overpowering. Draw was excellent and the ash was solid. For the price it could be an excellent daily stick.
