wrappers. The Nicaraguan grown, Habano seed wrapper is a deep, reddish-brown, toothy, oily leaf that imparts rich flavors of earth, wood and nuts that complement the thick smoke produced by the ligero filler blend. These flavors develop as the cigar progresses while the finish of the cigar grows more rich and lingers longer.
The Mexican maduro wrapper is a nearly black specimen, teeming with oils that smell of fresh cut hay with hints of cocoa and earth. The maduro wrapped version of the Cain cigar is still a full-bodied smoke, but the Mexican leaf imparts a subtle sweetness not found in the Habano cigars.
For those of you that appreciate the most full-bodied of smokes, the Cain “F” series cigars were created. Using the same Habano-seed, Nicaraguan grown wrapper as the original Cain cigars, this blend features even more Nicaraguan ligero in the filler blend creating what may arguably be the most full-bodied cigar on the market today.
And, if all of this strength was not enough, Sam Leccia took Cain cigars one step further by combining the “all-ligero” concept with his outstanding Nub cigar sizes to create the Cain Nub. The Nub cigars are designed to hit the cigar’s “sweet spot” right off the bat and in the case of the Cain Nub, that sweet spot is accompanied by rich, very full-bodied smoke with all of the great aromas of the original. Don’t be fooled by the Nub’s short size, these fat little cigars hold the same amount of tobacco as a Churchill and take as long to smoke!
Made by the Oliva Cigar Company, the Cain series cigars are handmade to the exacting standards one has come to expect from Oliva products. Excellent construction, quality leaves and outstanding blending all combine to make the Cain cigars a rich and rewarding experience for the well-heeled aficionado. Be warned, Cain cigars are not for the weak of heart!
The Cain Habano 660 received an epic 90-rating from Cigar Aficionado magazine in their December 2017 issue!
