Aging Room Maduro Alto - Churchill

Not that exciting

Very dry and toothy wrapper. The humidor was at 73% when I removed this and it’s been in there about a week getting acclimated. veins aren’t too prominent but the seems are pretty thick. Quite a delicate wrapper too. The initial smell is pretty harsh so I’m expecting very full body. Gotta admit, initial smoke isn’t as intense as I would have guessed but it’s picking up steam. Strong leather and woodsy smell. A faint chocolatey coffee taste is noticeable on the exhale, but almost concealed by a campfire smell. Not as balanced as I’d hoped but also not as bad as I expected.

I can hardly find any information on this exact wrapper, it’s probably a second or cheaper line because the red simple label isn’t that common in photos. Supposedly they are all small batches and very dissimilar. I’m not a huge fan. I’d say 6/10 for body and not that exciting of flavor. Leaving a lot of harsh chemical residue in my mouth early on. Gonna require frequent purges. I think I managed to find this batch on MikesCigars.com and it appears to be the Churchill Maduro. If that’s correct, it’s a Nicaraguan wrapper aged 5 years and Dominican Habano binder and filler
