By now, Rocky Patel is a name synonymous with incredible premium cigar, but the Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Cigar was the very first cigar to bear his name! As one would expect from a Rocky Patel release, this is a well-balanced smoke with an even burn and impeccable construction. The 1990 Vintage is made up of a wonderfully aged 12-year-old Honduran Maduro wrapper, build around a blend of 8-year-old Nicaraguan and Dominican Ligero fillers. The result is a mild to medium bodied, smooth and balanced, cigar with wonderful notes of nuts and caramel. As any cigar aficionado will tell you that when Rocky blends a cigar, it tends to lean towards the sophisticated palate, and may not hot the right notes with the novice smoker. At a glance, the Cigar looks strong especially the box press but looks can fool you in the Cigar world. i’ve had Cigars with their buttery looking Connecticut rappers give me the finger and say something about my mother after a Puff. This Cigar after you smoke it will come at you a different way then that. The construction of this Cigar made for a well satisfying Puff. I like to prime before I puff. What I got out of this Cigar was my moneys worth, the flavor wasn’t strong but soft, smooth, rich and silky. The Churchill gave a nice long burning time. The finish was so good. and elegant that I had to stop before I burned my mustache. The cool thing is that Mike’s will sell you (one) or navigate the site and find a sampler. Dammit these taste good with brownies.

I have other reviews for petits and cigarillos on mikes. They were written before I smoked these. These are the best, the camacho corojo and partagas blacks are good but not this good. These sacrifice nothing in taste, if anything they're amplified, and are sold at a reasonable price. The only petite id put above them is the davidoff Winston Churchill petit pantela and they're twice the price. Oh, and yeah they're strong, they will give you a buzz, cant believe they've been down voted and aren't 5 star because of that...

In my opinion these are the best sticks to come out of the 90 vintage line. A lot of people will disagree with me but I'm a power smoker... A power smoker who not always has a lot of time. The intensity of these little cigars will put sticks three times their size in a run for their money.

I like them heavy and I like them full. I kept the 90s and the 93 and gave the 99 to my brother. Honestly the 99 is nice but it doesn't do anything for me strengthwise. He thinks he's a cigar smoker so I let him smoke that and watch him while he says.... "oh man this is strong".....and kill myself laughing

One hell of a cigar. Everybody runs after the big sticks and I go to the opposite direction. Anytime I can find 46 and down gauges from Rocky that's my go-to. This petite 90 is stocked to the brim with chocolate hickory and cedar. Highly recommended.

Fantastic flavor, medium strength
I bought these in a Robusto size and was so happy with flavor and medium strength, that I bought another pack in the Toro size. Definite taste of dark chocolate along with the earthy and mellow tobacco flavors. Construction, draw and burn were near perfect.

I truly enjoy smoking this cigar. It has a robust complexity of earthy and woody notes and smooth tones of coffee and light pepper. Cigars burn even and with a great draw in which it's constructed very well. You won't be disappointed.
