Built around a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and made at Rocky Patel’s factory in Estelí, Rocky Patel Sun Grown Maduro takes the original Sun Grown concept in a heavier, more Nicaraguan direction. The line is box-pressed and built on Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos, creating a full-bodied profile that is known for earth, nuts, espresso, bittersweet chocolate, and a measured natural sweetness from the wrapper.
What separates this collection from many maduros in Rocky Patel’s portfolio is the way it balances weight and definition. Rather than leaning only on sweetness or raw strength, the blend is recognized for a denser, more layered character that keeps the broadleaf influence in focus without burying the Nicaraguan core. That identity helped establish the line early on, particularly after the Rocky Patel Sun Grown Maduro Robusto earned 95 points and the No. 2 spot in Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 Cigars of 2016. ...Read More

I wish a few would have been a larger gauge
They smoke decent I just wished they would have tossed some larger gauge sizes in the combo pack

Rocky Patel Sun Grown Maduro Lancero
Thin and delightful
Vincent Price smoked panetelas and I love them too. Finding a long, thin Maduro is very difficult but this Rocky Patel is the jackpot. A nice slow, even smoke, well made with a wonderful taste. Thanks, EP, for knowing not everyone wants a 60 ring behemoth.

A rare Maduro panatella
Vincent Price preferred panatellas and so do I, so finding this thin maduro is a rare treat. Smokes slow and steady, with a tasty draw all the way down. Thanks, Rocky, for remembering not everyone wants a 60 ring cigar.

Winner
I have smoked hundreds of these.Better than Olivia, My Father or any lancero not from Cuba. Cuban Lanceros are Way expensive & often do not draw well. The Rockys are never "off", they last forever & are a go to pick for the golf course. One of the best cigars you can actually find in stock

Rocky Patel Sun Grown Maduro Toro
The Rocky Patel Sun Grown Maduro Toro is a wonderful medium/full strength stick with a complex profile. This was my first Toro, but have enjoyed the Robusto on a few occasions. The smoke time was a little long for me usually, but still enjoyed it to the same level. I look forward to purchasing this beauty time and again.

Best one yet!
This cigar it’s just a beauty to look at and it’s full of flavor, I can assume coffee or chocolate would be the perfect pairing for this cigar but I paired mine with a Oaxaca Old Fashioned and let me tell you, it was delicious. You cannot go wrong with this cigar it’s definitely a box worthy buy.

Fantastic cigar
This RP is hands down a flavor bomb of flavor bombs. The wrapper, filler and binder combo lend this cigar to have a profile that tastes like dessert. I picked up notes of leather, raisins and black pepper. This is an absolute favorite of mine and I’m sure will be one of yours.
