Built as a richer, fuller expression within the E.P. Carrillo portfolio, EP Carrillo Pledge is a box-pressed line made at Tabacalera La Alianza in Santiago, Dominican Republic. The blend pairs a U.S.-grown Connecticut Habano wrapper with an Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan fillers, giving the series a profile that centers on earth, pepper, espresso, cocoa, and wood rather than the brighter balance associated with some of the brand’s other acclaimed releases.
The line quickly became one of Ernesto Perez-Carrillo’s most recognized modern blends. Its reputation was firmly established when the EP Carrillo Pledge Prequel earned a 98 rating and was named Cigar Aficionado’s 2020 Cigar of the Year, a distinction that helped define the collection as one of the brand’s landmark releases. Across the line, that blend identity translates into a dense, layered character with notable depth and a generally full-bodied presentation. ...Read More
Cigars came fast & well humidified. I have only been able to enjoy The Pledge, Encore due to this Northeast weather but it was delicious! I'm only about a year into being a cigar guy but I've realized that I like the heavier more complex tastes. Mike's has been my go to through my cigar journey! I love these guys!

Great cigar
What a great cigar. I can see why CA rated this one a 98. The draw was impeccable. The body was medium to full and it had a nice flavor too. I haven't smoked one of these in a couple years and I am glad I ordered a box. Some people say it is a strong, powerful cigar, but I disagree. It is very enjoyable smoke. And for the price, it can't be beat.

Great cigar
I can see why CA rated this one a 98. I forgot how good they are. Some people commented about how strong they are but I found them to be medium/full body and full of flavor. The draw was perfect too. Lastly, at that price point, they can't be beat....

very good cigar.I let these cigars age in humidor for 3 months before lighting them up.
EP Carrillo Pledge Prequel Robusto is an outstanding cigar.
The EP Carrillo Pledge Prequel Robusto was a remarkable cigar, which delivered a well-rounded and complex smoking experience. This medium to full-bodied cigar features a dark Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. Upon lighting, I was treated to a rich and flavorful profile with notes of dark cocoa, roasted coffee, and a hint of spice intermingle on the palate, creating a satisfying and intricate flavor journey. The construction was top-notch, offering a smooth draw and an even burn that highlights the cigar's quality. The aroma is inviting, with a pleasing and aromatic richness that adds to the overall enjoyment. If you enjoy a cigar that combines depth and balance, the EP Carrillo Pledge Prequel Robusto is an outstanding option.

Beautiful cigar, meticulous construction, excellent draw, complex flavors. Fantastic full bodied smoke. Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. shows once again why he is The Godfather of Boutique Cigars. Voted the #1 cigar of 2020 with an amazing rating of 98 from Cigar Aficionado. Don’t miss this one!

A wonderful cigar
A wonderful cigar from start to finish. I have never tried this cigar before, but now I will probably finish my search for a delicious and beautiful cigar. Before this cigar, I smoked LFD Andolus Bull for several years, but unfortunately, today this cigar is almost impossible to buy. Thank you to Master Perez Carrillo and the Mikecigars store for this beautiful cigar!
