Created by José “Jochy” Blanco, Cibao is one of the longstanding lines associated with the Blanco family’s Dominican tobacco tradition. The cigars are handmade in the Dominican Republic, and the line is built around Dominican binder and filler tobaccos grown in the Cibao Valley, the region that gives the series its name and much of its character.

As a collection, Cibao has been known for a smooth, approachable profile shaped by a Connecticut Shade wrapper over those Dominican-grown internal leaves. That combination gives the line a generally mild-to-medium body, with a creamy texture and a softer flavor range that sets it apart from many fuller Dominican offerings tied to Tabacalera Palma and Jochy Blanco’s broader portfolio.

Cibao Robusto

This is a great medium size smoke at at great price. Although the description overestimated the flavor. they used the word Butterscotch which is a favorite of mine. I could not identify any flavor or aroma of butterscotch. They came in a little dry and I smoked them too fast to get them correctly hydrated. The draw was great and they burned strait. I smoked every one right down until I couldn't hold it anymore.
I'm going to buy another box and I'm not going to smoke em till the numbers are good. I'll get back to you with an update.

Cibao Churchill

Cibao Churchill changed!

Completely changed. Wrapper went from Connecticut to almost maduro. Used to be a mild cigar. This is pretty harsh. It’s ok, well made but not my Cibaos that I’ve had for decades. Alas, I lament!

WHAT HAPPENED?!!!
It used to have a Connecticut wrapper. This is almost a maduro. The taste is completely different too. The old formula was very mild. This new blend was a bit harsh; more run of the mill. The description is misleading.

My personal All-Time Favorite Cigar, Best Ever Value-for-Dollar

My personal history with this cigar goes back to the early 90s, when I was in 7th Grade ... my older sister had convinced my Dad to pay for her to go on vacation with our much-richer Cousins, and they went to the Caribbean ... he apparently slipped her a few $20s and told her to make sure she brought back presents for her two younger siblings ... and shortly before leaving, she thought ... "oh right, I forgot... oh there's a Cigar Shop there, I'll just get him cigars..." (Meanwhile I'm like 12 btw...) - and she told the local Cigar Shop owner ... "Here's $20 ... please get me one famous cigar, a few other good ones, and 5 of something you like or locals would smoke..." - the expensive one was my personal premium pride-smoke, a Montecristo #2... the others I can't remember, but the 5-pack were Cibao Toros ... and my 12-year-old-self fell in love. ..

They are as awesome as they are uncomplicated ... just pure Dominican Republic smoothness ... remember how Arturo Fuente told everyone that they were the first company to make Dominican Puros , with Dominican Wrappers? Yeah man, except Cibao was doing it long before you... These are mild, gentle, cedary, almost creamy smokes ... If you're looking for a double-double-fuerte-maduro-con-fuego etc . - this is not it... if you're looking for a delicious & mild , relaxing, genuinely awesome smoke for a very, very fair price, this is IT ... I smoked one the other day and it literally was Picture Perfect, I could have taken a photo with my cell-phone and it could have become a magazine advertisement.

Highly Recommended .... I like fancy brands, I like expensive stuff, but this is my personal favorite relaxation & memory-lane smoke.

Not sure what is asked for in this field!

This cigar is a 50x5 and is easier to light and keep lit than my previous brand (Isla del Sol). I have not encountered any knots or clogs in the draw and have had no reason to re-light at all. Saves money and good flavor.

Great Daily

I was looking for a mild but flavorful cigar for the golf course. This is it. Flavors were pleasant, construction was good with a satisfying draw. What a great value.

A decent cigar value

I agree totally with post from Don. However the finish was a little stronger than I tend to enjoy. There are other cigars in this price bracket more enjoyable to my novice palate. MIKES' selection, service and prices are the best.

Great smoke, really enjoy this one

I’m a fan of a mild cigar without the heavy after taste. This is a smooth, even burning cigar that is satisfying from start to finish. Will definitely order again.
