Brief Escape with a Firecracker

I've tried many of the CAO lines and continue to try new ones, and they always seem to release more than I can keep up with. This was my most recent acquisition from the brand and it's a good one for many reasons.

First of all is the shape. I smoke a lot of figurados. I love perfectos, but let's be honest, there's not a lot of boxes of good quality perfectos on the market that can be had for entry level prices. Enter the CAO Cameroon Perfecto! Small? Yes, but it smokes for longer than you probably think. Mine tend to go for between 30-40 minutes, which is pretty good considering the price of this well made cigar (about $4 a stick). Depending on your routine, this cigar may be the perfect respite in your busy schedule. I love the size and shape because they fit a very particular function: Those brief breaks in between a day's work.

Secondly, the flavor. These Cameroons pack a punch. If a dark Churchill is going 8 slow rounds with a heavy weight, then this perfecto is like one fast round with a kick boxer. Not that you're fighting it, mind, but the brief intensity is invigorating and surprising. Lots of wood spice with tough leather that's been rubbed with plenty of black pepper. BBQ char and bitter dregs of sweetend espresso. Pretty good depth for its size.

At last, the value of these cigars is pretty apparent. If you are on a tight budget but you still want a premium box of cigars, you could do much worse than the flavor of this CAO wrapped up in the elegance of a perfecto. For less than $80 for 20 smokes, your wallet will be as happy as your palate. These cigars are decorated like a Christmas tree. The eye catching shape behind these green and white bands makes this an impressive cigar for sharing.

I would certainly always keep some of these guys in my humidor. They're an all around good buy. If you like a little boisterous flavor, I think you will be pleased.

A little slow developing the excellent flavor that they hold. The first draw was kinda harsh. When I let it sit for a little bit, I found this cigar to be one of the finest and best cigars that I have had in a long time. Great cigar.
