Made by Carlos Fuente Jr. himself they are the epitome of premium cigars. Succulent and luscious tobacco leaves are rolled in grand fashion of the cigar hey-days. The aroma is enticing with sweet creamy notes of glazed sugar and cinnamon. No question about it, the Hemingway stands tall in our marketplace.
Usually, Hemingway cigars are pretty hard to get and only come a couple times a year.
The Hemmingway series, named after the famous writer Ernest Hemmingway, was the first limited edition line of Arturo Fuente. Handmade with a medium to full bodied blend of aged Dominican filler tobaccos, a Dominican binder and a delicate African Cameroon wrapper, the rich flavors and sweet-spicy finish will please the most demanding consumer. Beside their unique taste and quality the Hemingway cigars are different than the rest of the Fuente stogies by their shape. All Hemingways are made at the traditional Cuban Perfecto shape which enhance their taste and put them apart from the regular crowd.

Rating100%Arturo Fuente Hemingway Best SellerWhat makes a “Best Seller”?So many things in America are considered best sellers that we can lose sight of what that really means.
For this cigar there’s the obvious visual appeal of the perfecto shape. That shape lends itself not only to the flavor profile but also to being easy to light. The Hemingway line consistently uses some beautiful wrappers which also add to the eye-catching shape.
The draw, as on each of the Hemingway line I’ve had the opportunity to smoke, was perfect. I don’t know how AF does it, but I rarely have to touch up or relight a Best Seller. It just burns well.
Now to the flavors of the cigar itself. Much like its Short Story sibling, the Best Seller doesn’t wow you as it transitions through various flavors. It starts with a little spice and the great mixture of aged tobaccos that this line is known for. That aged tobacco dominates the brief 40-45 minute smoke until it tapers off into a creamy, woody finish.
Honestly, I don’t know why AF calls these Best Sellers, but I’m sure they have their reasons. For me it boils down to it being a quick mellow smoke as I fire up the grill and easily pairs with a top shelf whisky as I prepare to enjoy this burger.

An AF Short Story is what I consider the perfect smoke for a bit of contemplation. For those times when it's just you and your thoughts. A smooth mild smoke, there’s some spice, like cinnamon, to the first bit of the cigar as it transitions more toward wood. There’s not a lot of depth to the flavor. It’s just a cigar to enjoy with your thoughts, not one to overpower the conversation in your head.
Turing back to Hemingway, I can’t help but wonder if he sat on the deck of Pilar and enjoyed a cigar while watching the fireworks one 4th of July evening…
