Description

Developed with AJ Fernandez for Altadis U.S.A., AJ Fernandez H Upmann brings a more assertive Nicaraguan character to one of premium cigars’ longest-running names. The original line is made in Estelí at AJ Fernandez Nicaragua with an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper, a Corojo 99 binder, and a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, creating a medium- to full-bodied profile built around balanced spice, sweetness, and nutty notes.

The collection has since expanded with AJ Fernandez H Upmann Nicaragua Heritage, a regular-production companion that leans fully into Nicaraguan-grown tobacco and a Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper for a darker, richer expression. Together, these cigars show how Fernandez’s blending style can reinterpret H. Upmann through fuller body, deeper earth and cocoa notes, and a more contemporary profile than the brand’s traditionally milder offerings.

The line has also earned notable critical attention. Cigar Aficionado rated the H. Upmann by A.J. Fernandez Churchill 93 points in 2025, while the H. Upmann Nicaragua AJ Fernandez Heritage Toro scored 91 points in 2026, recognition that helped confirm the collaboration as an important modern extension of the H. Upmann portfolio.

Well balanced cigar

A.J.Fernandez keeps meeting the standards and the demands of a smoker of cigars, this cigar is exquisite with the richness of Nicaraguan, Dominican and Ecuadorian combinations resulting to a decent experience of cigar tasting. well made, well combined and well constructed cigar which is worth the time and takes part in the creation of a beautiful experience. 2 well respected cigar makers.

This is the cigar that made me respect AJ Fernandez. I enjoyed H.Upmann’s the banker so I then tried this cigar not really looking into the fact that it was a collaboration. Man. Easily one of my top 5 cigars.

H Upmann by AJ Fernandez Belicoso - Box Pressed

Decent cigar for those who like blend by AJ Fernandez

AJ Fernandez has its own style and taste. It won't hit me too hard for me - the fortress is above average, closer to full. Cuban motives are felt. There are no complaints about the quality of the cigar - the roll is full-bodied, without obvious tobacco failures. Burning evenly, without distortions. I didn't really like this cigar, but my friends were delighted. It's worth a try!

Box Worthy

Except for the excellent Oliva V Melanio, I didn't buy boxes... Until now. I got the H. Upmann by AJ Fernandez in a sampler and was immediately sold. What a great, flavorful stick! So I splurged and happily made it part of my regular rotation. Try it, you won't regret it!

Very spicy

Was the first cigar I had that I enjoyed only been smoking for around a month. It was spicy strong for me I definitely felt the nicotine but I really enjoyed the blend and tobacco. Very well constructed never had to relight once I definitely recommend at this price you can’t go wrong

Another Amazing AJ Hernandez Collaboration

You can never go wrong with any AJ Fernandez smoke, but this cigar burns slowly and even for sitting out all day. These have been a big favorite of mine while working from home.
