There’s something about the scent of a good cigar that makes it stand out and get noticed by men, and what cigar doesn’t want that? Yes, the scent of a cigar can be one of the most alluring and attractive features for any cigar lover. Many years ago Mike told me about the scent of a good cigar. He was holding it gently in his hand, his nostrils twitched and opened wide as he inhaled the aroma and said: “My son, there’s nothing like the scent of a good Maduro”. From then on I learned to savor a real Maduro. The following selection is Mike’s special Maduro favorites:
(1) Romeo y Julieta Vintage Maduro VII (6x50) is a case in point. The Romeo brings the depth and the spectrum of colors and fragrance to the next level. A hell of a cigar, heavy and superbly constructed with unique flavors of gently roasted Colombian coffee with a dash of Cumin.
(2) TTT Trinidad Toro Maduro (6x55) adds the highest quality standards associated with a super-smoke. It is full of buttery tastes of charred cedar bark and spicy nuts. Wrapped in the silkiest aged maduro wrapper the Trinidad is a pure pleasure smoke.
(3) Henry Clay Toro Maduro (6x50). The Henry Clay name is a synonym for excellent maduro cigars. Indeed, all Henry Clays come only in Maduro, and there’s a good reason: for several generations they keep the secret of how to make true maduros and they really do.
(4) Licenciados Aniversario Robusto (5x52) is heavy and flavorful to boot.
Mike’s favorite Maduro is the Licenciados Supremo No. 500 (8x50). Powerful and oily it burns slow and sweet with flavors of charred mesquite and honey. A sweet, long, end to a great Maduro selection.
