NICKS STICKS (discontinued)

Nick’s Sticks cigars are named after their creator, Nick Perdomo Jr. Nick’s Sticks have been gracing the humidors of aficionados since 2010. However, by that time the Perdomo name was already regarded as one of the best cigar manufacturers in the nation.
The Perdomo family has been in the cigar industry since the early 1930”s. Silvio Perdomo was an apprentice for Cuesta
y Cia and then went to work at the H. Upmann factory. After nearly a decade Silvio moved on to become the manager of the Partagas factory. Silvio was working for some of the biggest
Nick Perdomo Sr., Silvio’s son, followed his father’s footsteps and got a cigar apprenticeship. After completing his apprenticeship, Nick Sr. went to work with his father at the Partagas factory. The Perdomo family has worked with some of the best cigar brands in the industry.
In 1959, the success of cigar businesses was undercut by Fidel Castro’s communist regime. The Perdomo men were considered enemies of Castro, based on their previous positive business relationship with the former Cuban President Fulgencio Batista.
Silvio was arrest several times due to his anti-communist ideas. Nick Sr. was also persecuted and fought in the guerrilla war against the revolution. To this day Nick Sr. contains two bullets lodged inside his body.
The Perdomo family fled Cuba and found safe haven in the United States in 1976. Nick Jr., Nick Sr.’s son, joined the U.S. Navy and served as air traffic controller. After his deployment, Nick Jr. got a job as an air traffic controller for the Miami International Airport.
In 1992, Nick Jr. decided to take a chance in the industry in which his father and grandfather had built their legacy. Nick founded the Nick’s Cigar Company, now known as Perdomo Cigars. The operation started out of Nick’s garage and he worked on the cigars after his shifts at his high paying corporate job.
The 1990’s cigar boom turned out really well for the blossoming young company. Perdomo was able to make a name for himself with their Perdomo2, or Perdomo Squared, cigar. The Perdomo2 line was one of the first box-pressed cigars of its kind on the market.
Perdomo’s talent quickly caused the company to outgrow its facilities. To deliver on the increased demand a factory was opened in Estelí, Nicaragua. Nick Sr. came out of retirement to help his son run the ever-expanding business.
The quality of cigar crafting drew in big names in the cigar industry. In a blind taste test, Perdomo’s cigars whipped out its competition and won a contract with C.A.O. The next generation of the Perdomo lineage, Nick III, is being groomed to continue his family’s legacy.
The lines of Nick’s Sticks cigars range from mild to full-bodied strength. The Nick’s Stick cigars feature exquisite tobacco from Nicaragua in their filler and as their binders.  Rich, delicate Connecticut wrappers complete the Nick’s Sticks blends.
